Cricket Indonesia (Persatuan Cricket Indonesia/PCI) is Indonesia's official cricket governing body. Its current headquarter is in Jakarta, and it has expanded all across the country. PCI was officially founded in 2011, despite the fact that the sport has been played for over 30 years. Currently, PCI is recognized by becoming an official member of KONI (Komite Olahraga Nasional Indonesia), KOI (Komite Olimpiade Indonesia), and the ICC (International Cricket Council) East Asia-Pacific region.
PCI aims to make cricket one of the best-performing sports in Indonesia and to be one of the top three most popular sports in the country for the upcoming future. Therefore, PCI is active in establishing cricket in various regions throughout Indonesia. From Aceh to Papua, it has over 22 province committees.
With its role in developing cricket in Indonesia, PCI has achieved numerous milestones and attracted over 200.000 young local cricketers from across the nation. The existing pathway for the future of cricket has been taking place from school level tournaments to regional championships, provincial competitions, and national championships.
As a result, cricket’s popularity is rapidly growing within the Indonesian community. Training, short courses, and seminars for coaches, referees, umpires, and other cricket supporting components are among the development programs.
PCI's ambition is for the sport to become a source of national pride in Indonesia. Indonesia is currently competing in a world-renowned tournament and has an establish Men and Women national team of both Senior level and the Junior level.
Sport has a spirit of unity and oneness. It is through Cricket that we build a high sportsmanship ethos in accordance with the ideals of Unity in Diversity. Cricket in Indonesia has developed into a community sport that is in great demand by young people. This is proven by the development of cricket in more than 20 provinces in Indonesia. In fact, Cricket has become an official sport that is competed in the National Sports Week (PON), which is the most important multi-event for the Indonesian sports community.
As an official member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) as well as a partner of the government through the Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) and the Indonesian Olympic Committee (KOI), PCI continues to advance in the development of grassroots cricket to achievements in the international arena. Our hope is that Cricket can become a pride for the Indonesian people and also make Indonesia proud on the world stage.
Furthermore, we, PCI administrators, will continue to work for Nusa and the Nation.
