Jakarta (ANTARA) – The Indonesian Cricket Association (PCI) has made history by successfully hosting the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) Global Workforce Training in Bali from November 8 to 13.

In an official statement on Saturday, the training was described as one of the most significant international cricket events of the year. It brought together 15 top professional coaches from various countries to prepare for the launch of the ICC Level 3 Coaching Course, set to be implemented globally in 2025.

“The presence of top coaches from around the world provides a unique experience, especially as they interact with our national team players. This is an extraordinary opportunity for our players to learn directly from those with international standards and experience,” said PCI Chairman Abhiram Singh Yadav.

Abhiram emphasized that the event should serve as momentum to enhance the capacity of Indonesia’s National Cricket Team in the future.

Moreover, the event spotlighted Indonesia as an active contributor to the global growth of cricket.

“The success of this event reflects the dedication to advancing cricket, not just in Indonesia but globally. The ICC believes this initiative will act as a catalyst for cricket development in member countries,” said ICC representative Abhishek Shekhawat.

The training also aligns with the ICC’s long-term vision, which currently boasts over 27,000 certified coaches, umpires, and pitch curators worldwide.

With the launch of the Level 3 Coaching Course, the ICC aims to strengthen cricket education structures in member countries and push for higher performance standards for coaches and athletes.

“The success of this event not only demonstrates our ability to host international events but also directly impacts the growth of the cricket community in Indonesia. This is the beginning of our efforts to improve the quality of play, coaching, and cricket education across the country,” said PCI Secretary-General Albert Tangkudung.
