TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Two female players from the Indonesian national cricket team, Nanda Sakarini and Tori Putri Suwandewi, have successfully helped the International Cricket Council (ICC) EAP (East Asia-Pacific) Team to win the Toyota Australia Country Cricket Championship (TACCC) 2020 in Toowoomba, Australia. .

What the two Indonesian players achieved, based on an official statement from the Indonesian Cricket Association Central Board (PP PCI) in Jakarta, Sunday, shows that Indonesian players have quality and deserve to compete with international players.

"PP PCI is proud of the success of Nanda and Tori Putri who were able to demonstrate their quality," said General Chair of PP PCI Aziz Syamsuddin.

The man who is also Deputy Chairman of the Republic of Indonesia DPR hopes that the two of them can add experience in competing in an effort to improve the achievements of the Indonesian cricket national team in the future. Moreover, the challenges ahead are much tougher.

"Our women's national team players continue to show progress by participating in playing at the international level, both national and non-national. And, we hope they can boost the ranking of the Indonesian National Team even better in the world," Aziz added.

In the final match that was held in Toowoomba, Australia, Saturday (11/1), ICC EAP, reinforced by two Indonesian players, defeated South Australia with a narrow score of 73/6 – 72/7. This is the best ICC EAP Women result in the history of participating in the tournament for several years.

The ICC EAP team which in the semi-finals beat Queensland by a score of 121/5 – 114/8 finished top of the points table in the group format. They recorded 5 wins from 7 matches which included wins over West Australia, South Australia, Queensland and New South Wales.

Nanda Sakarini contributed a total of 78 runs in 6 matches during the tournament. Meanwhile Tori Putri Suwandewi (2 wickets) also played an important role in various matches.
